Team of the Week: Waterloo Olympians (U9 Girls) - Walter Kirchner Tournament Champions Jun 30, 2010

The Waterloo Olympians (U9 Girls) delivered a very spirited performance this past weekend at the Walter Kirchner Tournament in Woodstock. The girls defeated Dorchester in the finals on penalty kicks to take the Championship.

The Olympians defeated Stratford and Woodstock and played to a draw with Dorchester in the round robin to progress to the semi-finals.

They defeated Paris in the semi-finals to qualify them for the championship game meeting Dorchester again.

Waterloo's U9 Girls prevailed in the finals by defeating Dorchester 2-0 on penalty kicks. It was a very exciting finish for the girls as they pulled together for one of their team-mates who had to be rushed to hospital with abdominal pain.

Coach Peter Aivaliotis and Assistant Coach Al Spurling are very proud of their U9 girls!
