Now Accepting Applications to Coach REP Travel Teams Jun 23, 2010

Waterloo Minor Soccer Club (WMSC) is now inviting applications to coach both boys and girls U9 to U18 competitive (REP) teams. WMSC seeks individuals with an ability to teach the game and facilitate a respectful relationship with players, parents, and peers in pursuit of soccer excellence.

Representative Travel Team Head Coaches must have, and/or commit to obtaining, all three levels of the Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Community Coach Certificate for the 2011 playing year. These coaching level courses are offered in the Fall and Winter months in the Waterloo Region area and require approximately 3 non-consecutive weekends to complete. Please visit www.ontariosoccer.net to learn more about coaching certification. WMSC also offers coaching development opportunities throughout the year. Police checks are mandatory.

Applications for coaching positions can be obtained at the WMSC office (located at 2001 University Avenue East, Suite 107, Waterloo ON N2K 4K4), or downloaded from the Waterloo Minor Soccer website (click here to download). WMSC is encouraging interested volunteers with knowledge for the “beautiful game” who want to coach. It is not a requirement to have a child registered in WMSC to be a successful coaching applicant.

A cover letter and resumé (Attention: Sean Strickland, Chair, Rep Committee) must accompany the application. All applications will be accepted at the office until 5:00pm (EDT) on Friday, July 16, 2010.
