Peter Mackie, Waterloo Minor Soccer Technical Coach

Peter is a coach and player within Waterloo Region well known for both
his passion for the game and excellence in play and coaching.
Peter played as a youth with Guelph Minor Soccer. He joined the Toronto
Blizzards reserves at the age of 16 and played for a year in the U20
national side. A distinguished university career at Wilfred Laurier
University followed as the 3 time All Canadian player lead his side to
one national championship final.
Peter culminated his playing career with Chelsea FC and Rochdale FC in
England after his years of youth and collegiate play. He played for 5
years in the Canadian Soccer League upon his return to Canada and
afterward has continued play in the Kitchener District Soccer League.

Peter distinguished himself as a youth soccer coach with several
successful youth sides in the Kitchener Minor Soccer. He joined the
University of Waterloo as the head coach of both the men’s and women’s
sides and taken squads twice the CIS finals (watch Peter on YouTube coaching the Waterloo Warriors). Peter received his National License from the NSCAA with a DP (Pass with Distinction) in July 2006.
WMSC introduced Peter as a club coach in 2010. Peter has excited the
club with his technical expertise and superb support of player and coach
development. This year Peter assumes the leadership of the popular U8 –
U10 Skills Development Program and looks forward to the introduction of
new approaches to teaching the game to players, coaches and teams. |
