Mandate: The Technical Committee is responsible for the establishment of standards, practices, and training throughout WMSC to support the continuous development of coaches and players. The committee recommends player and coach development activities and programming to the Board of Directors. The committee may design, implement, and oversee approved player and coach development programming. The committee reviews and coordinates the activities of the technical coaches and contract staff.
Member profile: Members of the committee should hold a background in sport coaching, programming, or sport education. An interest in the teaching and development of technical skills in soccer is required.
Member duties: Members of the committee liaise with program committees, technical coaches, and club staff to identify club technical requirements. Members will assist and support the design and implementation of programs or activities to meet the identified player or coach technical development needs.
Committee Meetings: The committee meets monthly. Venues such as teleconferencing will be used to supplement or replace in person meetings subject to the agreement of all members. Minutes are kept of all meetings and submitted to the board liaison that in turn ensures proper distribution to the Executive Director and the board.
Communication protocol: The committee will identify the affected programs, committees, and individuals within the club pertaining to each identified requirement, activity, or proposed program.
